This is wonderful value for a tour of America's most scenic areas during the glories of late spring, as all of the following are included:
  • Air fares from Sydney and Melbourne into Denver and out of Las Vegas with United Airlines.  
  • A 14 day coach tour visiting the Black Hills of Dakota, Deadwood, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Lake Powell, Painted Desert, Grand Canyon National Park and exciting Las Vegas. 
  • National Park admission fees. 
  • Good accommodation, mainly 3 to 4 star. 
  • Some meals. 
  • All transport and transfers. 
  • Services of an American tour guide and if there are 12 or more tour participants there will be a highly experienced Australian tour leader who has had extensive experience with tours of Australian National Parks.

If you don't have someone to twin share with, but wish to travel at twin share rates, we will do our best to match you up with another traveller, but this is not guaranteed. For anyone requiring a single room there will be an extra charge of $975.

Depart Melbourne at 11.20am on United Airlines flight UA 840, arriving in Los Angeles at 10.15am the same day (you cross the International Date Line). This flight goes via Sydney.
Depart Sydney at 1.50pm on UA 840, arriving in Los Angeles at 10.15am the same day (you cross the International Date Line).
All passengers will be met at the airport and transferred to the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Hotel for a 2 night stay.

Los Angeles - Denver
This morning transfer back to Los Angeles International Airport. Depart Los Angeles at 11.30am on UA 814, arriving in Denver at 2.50pm. Welcome to Denver, the 'Mile High City'. Denver is the capital of Colorado and gateway to the Rocky Mountains. It is an attractive city with broad streets and a tree lined pedestrian mall leads to the golden domed State Capitol and Larimer Square in the city's historic heart. Enjoy time at leisure to relax or to do some independent exploring. Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.

Denver - Cheyenne - Black Hills of South Dakota - Keystone
Depart Denver and travel north to Cheyenne. See the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and continue to Custer. Then see the Crazy Horse Memorial, a monument carved out of a mountain that pays respect to the great Native American hero, Chief Crazy Horse.
17.05.13 Keystone - Mount Rushmore - Deadwood
Drive deep into the Black Hills, through what was Sioux Indian Territory, to see the stunning granite face of Mount Rushmore, a giant monument to four great American Presidents; Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Afterwards, visit Tatanka, the story of the Bison and experience the richness of the Lakota people. On to Deadwood, a lawless frontier town during the 1876 Goldrush, where Jack McCall murdered Wild Bill Hickok during a poker game. Overnight here and discover Deadwood's wild west ways as you walk in the footsteps of legends like Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock.

Deadwood - Cody
This morning head through high country where open range cattle kings made war on the homesteaders in the 1890's. Drive past Sheridan in the Bighorn Mountains, site of battles between the U.S. Cavalry and the Sioux, Cheyenne and Crow Indians. Overnight in Buffalo Bill's frontier town of Cody.
19.05.13 Cody - Yellowstone National Park
Proceed through Shoshone National Forest to Yellowstone National Park. Travel along Grand Loop Road to Artist Point with views of Yellowstone Canyon and the Lower Falls. See the bubbling geyser basins and the consistent 'blow' of Old Faithful, Yellowstone's most famous geyser. Overnight in Yellowstone National Park.
(Routing and areas visited in Yellowstone National Park are subject to favourable weather, gate access and road conditions. When conditions are unfavourable the routing may be adjusted accordingly).
20.05.13 Yellowstone - Grand Teton National Park - Jackson
Today we head south into magnificent Grand Teton National Park, one of America's last preserves of wild solitude. It's 13,770 foot high ridges are crested with snow most of the year. Stroll along the shores of beautiful glacier fed Jenny Lake before ending the day in the wild west town of Jackson with its wooden sidewalks and swing door saloons. This evening you might like to join an optional barbeque cookout and Wild West Show.

Today is at leisure in Jackson to explore the shops and museums of historic downtown. You might like to join the optional scenic trip down the Snake River. (An 8 mile float trip that begins at Pritchard Creek and travels past the nesting areas of both bald eagles and ospreys). This evening you may wish to stroll along the old time boardwalks downtown and enjoy supper at one of the swing door saloons.

Jackson - Salt Lake City
Today we leave Jackson and drive to Salt Lake City, Utah's vibrant capital. Set on the edge of Great Salt Lake Desert. This centre of the Mormon religion is where Brigham Young declared to his followers 'This is the place'. An included sightseeing tour shows you the capital of Utah, including Temple Square, the adjacent tabernacle and the Beehive House.
23.05.13 Salt Lake City - Bryce Canyon National Park
Journey through sagebrush landscape to Bryce National Park with its 20 miles of sandstone cliffs and ever changing colours. See some of the Earth's most brillant shades of rock, sculptured by nature into pillars called 'hoodoos'.
24.05.13 Bryce Canyon National Park - Zion National Park - Page
First stop today is Zion National park with its landscape carved over millions of years by rushing streams. Steep canyons, stone towers and verdant vegetation form the scenery of Zion. Then head east into Page on the shores of Lake Powell, originally built to house workers during the construction of the massive Glen Canyon Dam, which holds back the waters of 186 mile long Lake Powell.
25.05.13 Page - Painted Desert - Grand Canyon National Park
Today you may decide to take part in an optional flight of scenic Monument Valley.
Then cross the Painted Desert and head through Kaibab National Forest before arriving at the Grand Canyon in the early afternoon. Marvel at one of the natural wonders of the world as you experience the breathtaking views. You'll have plenty of time to do some viewing before dusk, as your accommodation is inside Grand Canyon National Park.
26.05.13 Grand Canyon National Park - Las Vegas
Leaving the high country of Arizona, we pass through Williams on famous Route 66 and then the old Mojave gold strike country, which still has traces of century old ghost towns. Aftwerwards we arrive in Las Vegas, a neon desert oasis packed with spectacular hotels and casinos.

Today is at leisure to explore fascinating Las Vegas. It is also a great opportunity to see one or more of the world class shows that are on offer.
28.05.13 Las Vegas - Los Angeles - Australia
This morning is free in Las Vegas. Afterwards we transfer to Las Vegas Airport. All passengers depart Las Vegas at 4.20pm on UA 448, arriving in Los Angeles at 5.35pm.
Melbourne passengers depart Los Angeles at 10.15pm on UA 839, arriving in Melbourne at 9.40am two days later (30.05.13). You re-cross the International Date Line. This flight goes via Sydney.
Sydney passengers depart Los Angeles at 10.15pm on UA 839, arriving in Sydney at 6.10am two days later (30.05.13). You re-cross the International Date Line.
Note: The ground operator for this tour is Cosmos.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's USA National Parks & Canyon Country Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 12 weeks prior to departure.
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.
Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance.  Please note that we can only process  your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.    
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia. A visa waiver is required for travel to the United States of America for all Australian passport holders. At present the cost for a visa waiver is $14 per person.
Basic Tour Price and Taxes -
Air taxes and Fuel Levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in Air taxes and Fuel Levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.
Not  Included in the Cost - Travel insurance, visas and all items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals (except those specified in the itinerary), etc. are not included in the cost.
Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.
Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $245 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions. 
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of our tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department.
Health and Fitness -Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour.  Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service.  Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.
Macleay Valley Travel is legally not permitted to provide medical advice as to vaccinations/injections which you may require for this tour and advise you to consult your local medical practitioner for specific medical advice. There are no compulsory injections required for this tour.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
