12.06.12 Australia - Los Angeles
Melbourne passengers depart at 9.35am on Qantas flight QF 93, arriving in Los Angeles at 6.55am the same day.
Sydney passengers depart at 10.15am on Qantas flight QF 107, arriving in Los Angeles at 6.45am the same day.
Brisbane passengers depart at 10.35am on Qantas flight QF 15, arriving in Los Angeles at 6.40am the same day.
You are transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to recover from your flight or explore Los Angeles.

Today is at leisure for your own exploration. You may wish to visit Hollywood and the Hollywood History Museum, located in the old Max Factor Building. Stroll down Olvera Street, the heart of the original Spanish Mission, or visit the Getty Centre with its wonderful art collection. Take a tour around Universal Studios or spend the day at magical Disneyland.

Begin the day with a sightseeing tour of the world's "Capital of Glamour" including a drive through Hollywood and famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre. A stop in the desert oasis of Palm Springs with its distinctive wind farms, 5000 swimming pools, and 90 golf courses! This afternoon, head to the mountain ringed desert resort of Scottsdale.

The morning is free for independent activities. You may choose to join the optional four-wheel drive jeep tour, where you will experience incredible views of backcountry Arizona in specially equipped open air jeeps. Afterward, there will be a Phoenix sightseeing tour that highlights downtown Phoenix , the Arizona State Capitol Building, and an included visit to the Heard Museum, where exhibit galleries feature a variety of historic, traditional, and contemporary Native American art. Next, experience Old Town Scottsdale, where Western storefronts provide a window into the past. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax at your desert oasis resort and feel truly invigorated. Perhaps you would like to play a round of Arizona's famed golf courses, or maybe slip into rejuvenation mode and relax by the pool as you soak up the desert sun and take in the restful landscape.

Travel to Sedona, a thriving centre for New Age arts set in Canyon Country. On to the weather sculptured rock formations of Oak Creek Canyon. Alongside the San Francisco Mountains and beautiful pine forests to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Time to stroll the canyon rim. For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, take the optional helicopter flightseeing excursion for incomparable views of flame-coloured walls plunging 6000 feet into the Colorado River.

Flagstaff - Las Vegas
After the included breakfast, leave the mountain town of Flagstaff on historic Route 66 and cross the old Mojave gold strike country, which still bears traces of century-old ghost towns set in natural desert beauty. Watch for Joshua trees, a species of the lily family that grows more than 40 feet in height and can live up to 300 years. By late afternoon, reach Las Vegas, the fantastic city of feverish gambling, neon lights, bars and glamorous shows. Be sure to explore some of the many themed casino resorts along the colourful "Strip".

The morning and afternoon are free for you to swim and sunbathe at the hotel pool or explore the varied casinos and shopping plazas. Your Tour Director will have more suggestions to fill your day. Consider a river float trip through the Black Canyon.

A day of striking natural contrasts as the journey continues across the desert landscape of Nevada before crossing into California and ascending the snow capped Sierra Nevadas. Overnight in Mammoth, a popular alpine resort area surrounded by beauty and majesty - and within easy reach of Yosemite National Park.

Cross the high Tioga Pass and enter Yosemite National Park, a wonderland of spectacular lakes, giant granite domes, towering pinnacles, cascading waterfalls and lush forests. It's a beautiful drive from the park to Sonora, once a thriving centre in the Gold Rush era. 
21.06.12 Sonora - Sacramento - San Francisco
Head toward Sacramento, capital of California, with time to explore Old Sacramento. "Old Town", as the locals call it, features a Wild West ambiance. During your visit, see the country's biggest collection of Gold Rush-era buildings, a Wells Fargo museum, and a historic Railroad Museum. From Old Town, continue west to reach San Francisco by early afternoon. Cross the splendid bay with vistas of San Francisco skyline and its magnificent  harbour. On your city tour, see the main sights including the renowned Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and Nob Hill.

This morning, visit the famous and fascinating Alcatraz Prison. Get a close-up look at the infamous federal penitentiary that was off limits to the public for years. Afterward, the day is yours to do some more exploring in the "City by the Bay."

Another day to explore the regularly voted "Best City in the USA." San Francisco is a visual feast that offers something for every eye. A visit to the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park - one of the largest man-made parks in the world. Then, there is Grant Street, the city's oldest road running the length of Chinatown, and Haight-Ashbury, which rekindles memories of "Flower Power" and the "Beat Generation."

Early morning transfer to San Francisco Airport, departing at 8.00 on Jet Blue flight B6 640, arriving in New York at 4.30pm. You are then transferred to the hotel. Welcome to the "Big Apple!" Your Tour Director is on hand this evening to answer any questions.
25.06.12 New York City - Boston
This morning, on the included sightseeing tour with a local expert, visit Broadway, the Empire State Building, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, City Hall, Wall Street and Trinity Church. This afternoon, head for Boston - the "Cradle Of American Liberty." Visit its historical landmarks, reflecting the important part it has played in the history of the United States.

On your morning guided tour of Boston, see Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church (where Paul Revere was signaled for the departure of British troops to Lexington), and Boston Common. This afternoon is free for you to explore on your own. 
27.06.12 Boston- Quebec City
Journey north through New Hampshire, passing the state's capitol dome at Concord and on to the scenic White Mountains. Continue on to the Canadian border, where you'll notice a sudden change in language and tradition as you enter the French- Canadian province of Quebec. Overnight in historic Quebec City, which is built on the banks of the mighty St. Lawrence River.

Begin the day with a guided tour of Canada's only walled city, crowned by the turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. Until the British victory of 1759, Old Quebec was the centre of New France and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site today. Within the walls reside the Place d' Armes; the Laval Seminary, the star-plan Citadelle with grand vistas from its bastions and ancient Place Royale. See the Old World houses crowding narrow streets in Lower Town and the historic Plains of Abraham, where General Wolfe stormed the slopes. The afternoon is at leisure.

Today, drive to cosmopolitan Montreal, one of Canada's largest cities. Montreal is the home of Expo '67 and the 1976 Summer Olympics. This afternoon 's included sightseeing tour includes St. Joseph's Oratory, the lookout atop Mount Royal, once -walled Old Montreal, Notre Dame Church, the Seminary of St. Sulpice built by the first missionary settlers and modern Montreal.

Drive west to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital. Your city sightseeing includes Parliament Hill with its gothic buildings, the Canadian Mint, the Rideau Canal, the hexagon National Arts Centre and stately residences and embassies.

Trace the Rideau Canal south to the amazing St. Lawrence Islands National Park. Enjoy many wooded islands along the St Lawrence River, sprinkled with beautifully simple to opulent summer homes on your included scenic cruise.

Setting Toronto's exciting architectural pace are City Hall; the downtown banking district; the SkyDome stadium; and stunning CN Tower, more than one-third of a mile high. See these and more on your morning city sightseeing tour. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the city sights on your own, including Harbour front, Ontario Place and Chinatown.
03.07.12 Toronto - Niagara Falls
Travel south along the lakeshore and through rich farmlands and vineyards of Ontario to Niagara Falls. Stop at Table Rock and hear the raging waters. Then, board the Maid Of The Mist for amazing close-ups at the base of the falls.
Note: The operation of the Maid Of The Mist cruise is subject to favourable weather conditions.When the weather is unfavourable, a walking tour through scenic tunnels will be substituted.

Leave Canada today and head southeast through the Appalachian Mountains and along a portion of the Susquehanna River into Pennsylvania Dutch farm country.
05.07.12 Lancaster - Penn Dutch Country - Washington DC
Lancaster County is the home of the religious Amish and Mennonite sects. This morning, stop at the Amish Farm & House. A local guide explains the faith,culture and way of life of these people for whom tradition forbids the use of electricity or telephones in the home. On to Washington DC for an afternoon arrival.

Your half day guided tour features the Korean, Vietnam War Veterans and National WWII memorials and many other well-known sights. You'll also stop for photos at the White House and Capitol Hill. Then, cross the Potomac River and see the graves of American heroes, including those of Robert, Ted, John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, in beautiful Arlington Cemetery.
07.07.12 Washington DC - Philadelphia - New York City
This morning, drive to Philadelphia which is the birthplace of the nation. An orientation tour focuses on the historic significance of the city. Afterward, leave for New York City. 
08.07.12 New York City - Los Angeles
This morning is at leisure for a last minute opportunity to further explore New York. In the afternoon you are transferred to the airport for your flights back to Australia.
Depart New York at 6.45pm on Qantas flight QF 108, arriving in Los Angeles at 10.00pm.
Brisbane passengers depart Los Angeles at 11.20pm on QF 16, arriving in Brisbane at 6.20am two days later (10.07.12).
Sydney passengers depart Los Angeles at 11.50pm on QF 108, arriving in Sydney at 7.25am two days later (10.07.12).
Melbourne passengers depart Los Angeles at 11.30pm on QF 94, arriving in Melbourne at 8.20am two days later (10.07.12).

On your morning arrival into Los Angeles on the 12th June, your hotel room may not be ready until about 2pm. If you would like to go straight into your hotel room, there will be an additional charge of $65 per person twin share or $120 single room.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's U.S. West Coast and Eastern U.S. & Canada Tour in Summer Time
Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $600.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 12 weeks prior to departure. 

Refunds and CancellationsCancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.

Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired. Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance.  Please note that we can only process  your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.  

Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Some Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia.
A visas waver is required for travel to the United States if America for all Australian passport holders The cost of the visa waiver is US$14.00 per person. 

Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc. Also travel insurance. Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.

Basic Tour Price & Taxes - Air taxes and Fuel Levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in Air taxes and Fuel Levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.

Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set  itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $115 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions. 

Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of our tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department.

Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour.  Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service.  Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.

Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
