For anyone wishing to stay longer in Thailand, there will be an
optional extension of a seven day coach tour to Chiang Mai and Northern
Thailand for $695 per person twin share. This covers the cost of the
coach, good quality accommodation, many meals, the Thai tour guide and
admission fees to many attractions.
We will make every effort to match up single travellers who wish
to travel at twin share rates, but this is not guaranteed. If a single
room is required the extra cost would be $225 for the seven-day tour or
an extra $430 for the full 14 day tour.

Transfer to the Manhattan for four nights. The hotel is centrally
situated in the Sukhumvit shopping and entertainment area and close to
the Sky Rail Station.

Morning
optional tour to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Bangkok's Grand
Palace, Coronation Hall, Emerald Buddha, and the replica of Angkor
Watt. This is followed by a visit to the temple of the Reclining Buddha
with it's huge mother-of-pearl feet. On the way back to the hotel we
will go via Siam Square (quality shopping) and the Pratanum
import/export market (bargain price, ready-to-wear clothing) for those
who wish to be dropped off there. Price $37.00.
In the evening there will be an optional outing to a traditional Thai
theatre restaurant for a Thai banquet and presentation of Thai
classical dancing. Price $34.00.

Optional full
day tour to the River Kwai. There is a 3 hour coach trip to
Kanchanaburi where we inspect the Jeath War Museum situated in Bamboo
huts - replicas of where the allied prisoners were housed. We then
visit the beautifully maintained war memorial cemetry. Then onto the
infamous bridge itself, which we can walk across. We then have lunch
(included) at a nice restaurant beside the bridge. After lunch we
travel out to see the large trestle where many Australians died in the
construction. Then we visit the famous "Tiger Temple" where the monks
care for a number of large and baby tigers. You can get a photograph of
your self patting a tiger! We then drive back to Bangkok. Price $74.00.

In the morning
there is an optional tour to see Bangko's beautiful flower market,
followed by a boat tour of Bangkok's klongs (canals) and the busy Chao
Phrya River. See the Royal Barges nd the spectacular Temple of Dawn.
This is followed by a visit to a jewellery manufacturer(with drinks on
the house!). Price $32.00.
This afternoon there is an included tour to the world's biggest weekend
market. It covers several acres and sells alsmost everything. The
prices are excellent, if you are good at bargaining!

Transfer
to
Pattaya, Thailand's leading resort on the Gulf of Siam. En Route visit
Thailands biggest department store. Then on to Pattaya, staying at the
A-One Royal Cruise Hotel in central Pattaya for three nights. In the
evening
there is an optional excursion "Pattaya by night". First we have dinner
(included) at an outstanding Thai restaurant. Then we attend one of the
world's best transvestite shows with superb dancing, costumes and
scenery. Then a stroll along the South Pattaya strip, an area famous
for it's nightlife. Price $55.00.

morning tour to Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, one of the most beautiful
gardens in South East Asia. There is an excellent cultural show and

Depart for Si
Racha Zoo, located between Pattaya and Bang Saen. Here a large number
of Bengal tigers as well as crocodiles and other animals can be found.
Watch the shows involving trainers with tigers and crocodiles. You may
choose to hold and take photos with tiger cubs. You will be thrilled to
see how friendship can be possible among tigers, pigs and dogs, living
together peacefully. View a large number of scorpions on ladies'
bodies. Witness a crocodile wrestling show by lady performers and visit
a crocodile farm. After lunch, enjoy the entertaining tiger show. Transfer back to the hotel. Price $48.00 including lunch.
6pm
late check-out from hotel, and depart hotel 7pm. Transfer to Bangkok
Airport, where passengers doing the 8 day tour depart for Australia.

Brisbane passengers depart Bangkok at 11:59pm on TG473, arriving in Brisbane at 12:05pm (25.11.09).

After dropping those returning to Australia at the airport, the passengers doing the extension travel
north to Ayuttaya, a former capital sacked by the Burmese in the 18th
century, for an overnight stay. In this section of the tour breakfast is included daily, plus
other meals as specified, all accommodation, travel and Admission fees.

Visit Ayuttaya's historic park with its extensive ruins. Next to
Lopburi to see its famous Monkey Temple, where hundreds of monkeys run
wild over the temple and the surrounding city. We next inspect an
interesting museum set in a former palace. We then travel to
Phitsanalook for an overnight stay. Lunch included.

the Phitsanalook local market to enjoy it's sight, sounds and smell.
Then to Sukothai, the ancient ruins dating back to the 14th century.
Finally we visit the spectacular Soldiers Temple, possibly the most
beautiful temple in the world. We then travel to Lampang for an
overnight stay. Lunch included.

an interesting Burmese-style temple in Lampang. Then travel to Lampoon
where we inspect historical Wat Haripoonchai, built in 1157. Then we
travel to Chiang Mai where we visit Wat Doi Suthep, a beautiful
mountain-top temple with spectacular views back over Chiang Mai. We
then check in to the luxurious 4 star Central Duangatawan Hotel for a 3
night stay. This hotel is situated right in the middle of Chiang Mai's
bustling night market. Lunch included.

Mai's various handicraft factories. See the manufacture of silverware,

Travel out into
the rural areas to visit an orchid nursery and butterfly farm. Next we

towards Bangkok on the western road. On the way we visit the Lampang
Elephant Centre and see a demonstration of elephants at work. We stay

Travel to
inspect the Thai Royal family's Summer Palace at Bang Pa Inn, with
lunch at a renowned riverfront restaurant (included). Then onto Bangkok
International Airport.
Sydney passengers depart at 6:00pm on TG455, arriving in Sydney at 7:10am the next morning (02.12.09).
Brisbane passengers depart at 11:59pm on TG473, arriving in Brisbane at 12:05pm the next day (02.12.09).
Melbourne passengers are transferred to the Manhattan Hotel for an overnight stay.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Thailand Shopping Tour
Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days
of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The
balance is payable in full 8 weeks prior to departure.
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left
on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a
re-entry visa for Australia. Visas are not required for Thailand if travelling on an Australian passport.
Basic Tour Price and Taxes - Air
taxes and fuel levies are included in the basic tour price, therefore,
as air taxes and fuel surcharges change regularly the exact amount will
be advised at time of final payment. Total tour cost may therfore
change by a small amount.
Not Included in the Cost - All
items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess
baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc.
Also travel insurance.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is
insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel
agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the
other agent's commission. Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any
monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We
are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with
your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department. Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to
the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the
credit card companies.
Health and Fitness -
Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably
healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a
disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a
companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot
provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to
accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour
under certain circumstances.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels,
Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other
services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for
death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property
including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation,
accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly
from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of
Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether
declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots,
thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays
or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over
bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's
control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient
passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel,
and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or
responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or
incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the
accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the
amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the
original program.
