After breakfast transfer to Mountain Sorak. The journey will take 4-5
hours. We depart Mt Sorak National Park where we take a cable car to
one of the peaks for panoramic views of Mt Sorak. Seoraksan's
aerial tramway runs 1100 mt (3,608 ft) from the valley floor to
the ridge above. The five minute ride offers a birds eye view of the
Outer Seorak area. About 100 mt below the upper cable car terminus
is the tiny hermitage of Allak-am. This religious site sits
precariously on the edge of a precipice. On the sides of its main hall,
colourful paintings depict scenes from Buddha's life and other familiar
topics. We later proceed to Shinhungsa
Temple the Great Bronze. A short easy stroll from the park plaza brings
you to Sinheungsa ("Divine Undertaking Temple"), the principal temple
of Seoraksan.
Mt Sorak is considered one of Korea's most beautiful mountain areas,
consisting of of Oeseorak, Naeseorak and Namseorak. It boasts numerous
