23.02.11 Depart Sydney on TG476 at 11.00am arriving in Bangkok at 4.30pm.
Depart Brisbane at 2.20pm on TG474, arriving in Bangkok at 8.30pm.
Depart Melbourne at 4.00pm on TG466, arriving in Bangkok at 9.10pm.
All flights will be met at the airport and transferred  to the wonderful 5 star Millenium Hilton Hotel, a near-new riverfront hotel.

Today there will be a tour to the Sampan Elephant ground and zoo. Located to the west of Bangkok in Nakhon Pathom province. For less than an hour drive Samphran Elephant ground and zoo is a popular sightseeing destination.  It highlights exciting events such as the Elephant theme shows and the crocodile wrestling shows. In the elephant show, the elephants are the stars where they dance, race, play football and games, 'Yutha Hathi' a great royal battle scene, is even performed with the actors riding on the elephants. As for the wrestling show, the crocodile and the master crocodile catcher perform breathtaking stunts to their audience's delight.
The visitors can also check out the tropical garden and waterfalls on the elephant's back. Visit the orchid nursery, and sample International cuisine at the Erawan Restaurant (lunch inluded)
Accredited by CITES as 'One of the cleanest and most impressive public displays of crocodiles in the world', the visitors will surely enjoy exploring the zoo ground.

Morning free. Early afternoon we depart the hotel by boat to tour Bangkok's extensive klong (canal) network. You will see the way of life of the Thai people. You will stop and inspect the Royal Barges Museum, with its magnificent ceremonial boats. We then visit Bangkok's colourful flower market. Then we go by coach to visit the factory and showroom of a jewellery manufacturer. Next we have dinner at one of Bangkok's renowned restaurants. Then trasfer to Bangkok airport.

This morning after breakfast we travel to Toledo, capital of Castile. On our arrivial a guided walking tour highlights the Jewish Synagogue and more. Next into Andalusia to hilltop Granada with its views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This evening we dine in our hotel.

Our morning sightseeing tour with the local guide visits the exquisite Alhambra Palace, Spain's most beautiful Moorish building and former residence of the Moorish Kings. Then on to the centre of the Costa de Sol where tonight we will enjoy dinner in our hotel.

We continue into a different world as we enter Morocco, driving past the Rif Mountains to the Imperial city of Fez and the first of our six-night stay in Africa!. Today we drive to Casablanca, scene of Bogart's most magical moments and some of North Africa's best beaches. Here our guided sightseeing tour shows us the panoramas to be enjoyed from the Corniche, views the Mosque and the modern section of the city. Then we visit the Casbah, to explore its maze of twisted streets. Later time to explore this romantic city and its associations with Humphrey Bogart.

We drive along the Atlantic Coast to Rabat, capital of this fascinating country. Here we enjoy an orientation featuring the Royal Mosque, Mausoleum and Royal Palace. Then on to Tangier, where an orientation shows us the city's highlights and the area where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean Sea.

A morning ferry crossing across the Straits of Gibraltar, takes us back to the Spanish mainland. We disembark and join our coach for our journey through Jerez vineyards to beautiful Seville.

Our morning sightseeing with audio system in this romantic city highlights the Giralda Tower along with the pools and fountains of the Maria Luisa Park, the Cathedral and Columbus' tomb. We will also enjoy a walk through the Jewish quater. Tonight  we enjoy a 'Be my Guest' authentic Tapas dinner in a typical bodega restaurant and learn about local sherry, manzanilla.

This morning we travel through the 'Jabugo' ham producing region of Spain and past the castle at Aracena to the Alentejo region of Portugal, with its many cork forests. Soon, we arrive in Lisbon, the capital, for our two night stay.

After breakfast our first stop is Avila, birthplace of St. Theresa, to see its mighty fortifications. From here we continue past the Sierra de Guadarrama back to Madrid. This morning we will visit the El Escorial Monastery. Experience the grandeur of the El Escorial monastery on on a guided half-day trip from Madrid. Afterwards, visit the poignant Valley of the Fallen monument erected in memory of the millions who died in the Spanish Civil War. Gain insights into Spain's intriguing history at these symbolic monuments reflecting the Spanish monarchy, church and 20th-century conflict.
The Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo El Real was built by King Philip II to house the remains of his parents, Charles I and Isabella of Portugal. The austere Renaissance complex combines a palace and monastery, and features a wonderful collection of art. On your visit, an experienced guide will take you for a tour of the complex, including the Pantheon of Kings and basilica.
Located six miles (9.5 kilometers) north of El Escorial lies the Valley of the Fallen, a vast basillica built into the side of a mountain qand topped by a gigantic granite cross. The monument was built by the Spanish dictator General Franco to remember the dead of Spain's Civil War. You'll take a guided tour inside the basilica, and admire the spectacular valley landscape surrounding the complex.
At the present (August 2010) the Valley of the Fallen is closed for renovation however it is expected to be open well before your tour departs. However if the the Valley of the Fallen is still closed you will enjoy an extended visit of the El Escorial monastery and the library.

Sydney passengers depart Bangkok at 7.45am on TG471, arriving in Sydney at 9.00pm.
Melbourne passengers depart Bangkok at 8.10am on TG 461, arriving in Melbourne at 9.20pm.
17.03.11 Brisbane passengers have a free day in Bangkok. Your Thai guide will have suggestions for optional day tours. Transfer to Bangkok Airport departing at 11.59pm on TG473, arriving in Brisbane at 12.05pm (18.03.11).
Note: The extra cost for the Brisbane passengers for the return transfers and one nights accommodation with late 6pm check-out and breakfast is $125.00 per person twin share and $160 single room.
Sydney and Melbourne passengers can also do this if they wish.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Spain, Portgual & Morocco Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 10 weeks prior to departure. 
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia. Visas are not required for any of these countries if travelling on an Australian passport.
Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.
Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), travel insurance etc.
Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.
Basic Tour Price and Taxes -Air taxes and fuel levies are included in the basic tour price, and as air taxes and fuel levies change regularly  the exact amount will be advised at time of invoicing. At present air taxes and fuel levies come to $645 for the standard tour. Total tour cost may therefore change.
Breakaway Fee
All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set  itinerary will incur a breakaway fee.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affiars (fair trading) department.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
