Depart Brisbane at 2:45pm on SQ 236, arriving in Singapore at 8:50pm.

All passengers will be transferred to the centrally situated Peninsular Excelsior Hotel, for a three night stay.

Johannesburg - Kruger National Park
Depart Johannesburg and travel across the Gauteng Highveld descending into the subtropical Lowveld region of Mpumalanga, towards the world famous Kruger National Park. More than two million hectares makes up the Kruger National park which boasts more than 146 mammal species, 507 bird species and 400 different tree varieties. Overnight at Hotel Kruger Gate Lodge including breakfast and dinner.

Kruger National Park
We begin the day with an early morning game drive into the Kruger National Park. Optional 4 x 4 open safari vehicles for your full day game drive are available. No guarantees can be given that you will encounter the 'Big Five' (lion, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo), but you are certain of seeing at very close quarters, an abundance of antelope, birds, mammals and possibly reptiles. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon in good time for drinks and dinner. Overnight Protea Hotel Kruger Gate Lodge including breakfast and dinner.

Swaziland to St Lucia
Today we visit one of the local markets and the Swazi Candle factory. Here you can watch the creative process and meet the artisans. Continue through the small land-locked country before re-entering South Africa where the warm welcome of the locals in another kingdom awaits you, the Kingdom of the Zulus in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province. Proceed to your hotel situated on the banks of the St Lucia Estuary, entrance point to the southern portion of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and Game Reserve. Overnight at the Protea Hotel St Lucia.

St Lucia - Hluhluwe Game Reserve
Today there is a choice of optional activities including morning or afternoon game drives in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, an Eco cruise on Lake St Lucia, guided nature walks or a visit to the Crocodile & Snake Park. Isimangiliso (The Greater St Lucia Wetland park) was proclaimed South Africa's first World Heritage Site in December 1999. The tour continues to Shakaland, and authentic Zulu Village. Durban - The Wild Coast
We depart the city of Durban and travel to the rural area along the Eastern Cape coast, known as the Wild Coast.  The Wild Coast, on the eastern seaboard of South Africa is a land that has been lost in time where the modern world has passed it by - a combination of history, geography and politics has left it largely undeveloped and unexplored. Most roads are still gravelled and the population still live as they have done for centuries. You will arrive late in the afternoon at your hotel at Coffee Bay, in the heart of the old Transkei. Overnight at the Ocean View Hotel.

Today we travel south crossing the Kei River and enter 1820 Settler Country. After a long journey the tour continues to Port Elizabeth, set along the beautiful shores of Algoa Bay and known as the Friendly City! Arrival at the hotel late afternoon. Overnight at the Protea Marine Hotel.

Port Elizabeth - Knysna
Leave the Eastern Cape and travel to the Garden Route, one of the country's most beautiful and scenic locations. Your journey will take you through dense indigenous forests, woodlands, lakes and lagoons to Kynsna, known as the Jewel of the Garden Route. Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coast's best-known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon - it offers many activities and attractions of a wide variety. The most well known attraction being The Heads, which are two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon, connecting the estuary with the sea. Overnight at the Hotel Knysna Quays.

Garden Route
After breakfast you are taken to the Knysna harbour to board a ferry which will take you for a tour of the Feather-bed Nature Reserve, including lunch. The Nature Reserve is a unique 150ha private reserve, encompassing the whole of the Western Head of Knysna and is one of South Africa's Natural Heritage Sites. Overnight at the Hotel Knysna Quays.

Knysna via Oudtshoorn - Cape Town
Depart Knysna in the early morning to travel inland along the winding Outeniqua Pass, to the Ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn. Here you visit a working ostrich ranch for a tour. Those daring enough may even get the chance to ride an Ostrich! Continue along the famous Route 61 through the semi-desert, and wine lands region and onto Cape Town. Your journey will take you through the towns of Robertson and Worcester before arriving in the late afternoon in the Mother City. Overnight at the Hotel Sea Point.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's South Africa Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 8 weeks prior to departure.

Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.

Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.

Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia.Visas are not required for South Africa if travelling on an Australian passport.

Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc. Also travel insurance and airport  taxes & levies. Airport taxes & levies must now be paid with your ticket, and comes to $520 at present.

Health and Fitness -  Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour.  Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service.  Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.

Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affiars (fair trading) department.
Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.

Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
