Jakarta is Indonesia's capital and is also the centre of government for
both business and industry. It is the main gateway with its contrast of

breakfast visit Sunda Kelapa Harbour and the city, pass Merdekaa
Square, the National Monument, Presidential Palace the finest in South
East Asia.

Visit
Bogor Botanical Garden, which is best known for having the most
tropical plants in the world. On 111 hectares, the garden contains over
10,000 typical plants. Adjacent to the gardens is Bogor Palace, which
is of early 1800's vintage and the preferred residence of many colonial
governor-generals. We then have a jungle safari. Sprawling over 168
hectares, this safari park is recognised as being one of the most
successful breeding centres of endangered species in the world.
Sumatran and albino tigers, rhinoceroses. The park also offers a
camp-site, recreational forests and a caravan park. We follow the
winding road of Puncak and arrive at the highest point, where we have a
panoramic view of a tea plantation along with the pickers on the way to
Bandung.

Bandung, we drive right up to the rim of Tangkuban Perahu and visit a
volcano, where you can gaze into the bubbling mud and sculpture below.
We visit the nearby Ciater Hot Springs and thermal spa.

On our way to Yogjakarta the scenery varies from lush, green hillsides to small villages and colourful local markets.

Yogjakarta,
visit the Borobudur Temple which was built in the 8th century and is
the largest artistic expression of the principles of the Buddhist
religion, combing art and architecture to produce a true 'Wonder of the
World'. The temple has 504 statues of Buddha and more than 1300 carved
panels depicting scenes from his life and 1472 stapes. We'll visit the
Prambanan Hindu Temple, built in the 9th century. Yogjakarta is the
cultural capital of central Java built between the 5th and 9th century
A.D. It is the main gateway to central Java, and its fertile plain was
the seat of the mighty Javanese Empire of Mataram. Yogjakarta is still
a Sultanate, now under the jurisdiction of Sultan Hamengleu Buwana IX, a
dynasty dating from 1755. Due to its location and history, the arts
flourished in Yogjakarta and it still offers a wide variety of
traditional arts today, as there are many craftsmen. We
visit a gold and silver workshop. The Kraton Palace is surrounded by
four walls. The compound and buildings are European rococo. In the
evening we see the Ramayanas Ballet performance. The Ramayana story is
set on a most beautiful Hindu temple and is similar to the traditional
Indian story. The performance is summarised in four scenes; the
kidnapping of Shinta, Anoman's mission to Alengka, the death of
Kumbakarna or Rahwana and the meeting of Rama Sinta.

Yogyakarta we drive to Malang, via Surakarta to Wonogiri and then
Ponorogo on the south side of Mount Liman 2563, then we drive to Blitar
south of the Mount Ngantang along the lake of Karang Kates to Malang
for city sightseeing.

breakfast we do a Malang city tour & visit Selecta Park - a
recreation park with beautiful flowers and colourful fishes. Malang
City with the cold climated and well known as "Apple City". Then drive
to Bromo.

Optional Midnight Bromo Sunrise Tour $25 (min
4 pax) climbs up the volcano Mount Bromo to see sunrise and see Hindu

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Java & Bali Tour
Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days
of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The
balance is payable in full 8 weeks prior to departure.
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left
on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a
re-entry visa for Australia.
Australian passport holders require a visa for Indonesia, which is
obtained upon arrival at Jakarta Airport. The cost of the visa is US
$25.00
Not Included in the Cost - All
items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess
baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc.
Also travel insurance and taxes and levies. These
must now be paid with your ticket, and comes to $485 at present.

Health and Fitness -
Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably
healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a
disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a
companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot
provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to
accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour
under certain circumstances.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is
insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel
agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the
other agent's commission.
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any
monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We
are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with
your local Consumer Affiars (fair trading) department.
Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to
the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the
credit card companies.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels,
Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other
services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for
death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property
including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation,
accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly
from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of
Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether
declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots,
thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays
or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over
bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's
control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient
passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel,
and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or
responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or
incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the
accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the
amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the
original program.
