  Itinerary for Java & Bali Tour - April 2012
Breakfast daily is included when in Indonesia.
02.04.12 Sydney passengers depart Sydney at 8.05am on SQ 212, arriving in Singapore at 2.25pm.
Brisbane passengers depart Brisbane at 9.10am on SQ 256, arriving in Singapore at 3.20pm.
Melbourne passengers depart Melbourne at 10.00am on SQ 238, arriving in Singapore at 3.50pm.
All passengers then depart Singapore at 5.20pm on SQ 962, arriving in Jakarta at 6.05pm.
Jakarta is Indonesia's capital and is also the centre of government for both business and industry. It is the main gateway with its contrast of modern western architecture and traditional culture. Transfer to the hotel.

03.04.12 Visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Indonesian Minature Park) - The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's provinces encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of Indonesian architecture, clothing, dances and traditions are all depicted impeccably. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city. Afterwards, pass Merdeka Square, the National Monument, Presidential Palace, the finest in South East Asia.

04.04.12 Visit Bogor Botanical Garden, which is best known for having the most tropical plants in the world. On 111 hectares, the garden contains over 10,000 typical plants. Adjacent to the gardens is Bogor Palace, which is of early 1800's vintage and the preferred residence of many colonial governor-generals.

05.04.12 Today we have a jungle safari. Sprawling over 168 hectares, this safari park is recognised as being one of the most successful breeding centres of endangered species in the world. Sumatran and albino tigers, rhinoceroses. The park also offers a camp-site, recreational forests and a caravan park. We follow the winding road of Puncak and arrive at the highest point, where we have a panoramic view of a tea plantation along with the pickers on the way to Bandung.

06.04.12 Near Bandung, we drive right up to the rim of Tangkuban Perahu and visit a volcano, where you can gaze into the bubbling mud and sculpture below. We visit the nearby Ciater Hot Springs and thermal spa.

Today we take the Executive Train to Yogyakarta. The scenery from the train varies from lush, green hillsides to small villages and colourful local markets. In the evening you can stroll along the famous Malioboro shopping centre.

08.04.12 Yogyakarta is the cultural capital and main gateway to central Java, and its fertile plain was the seat of the mighty Javanese Empire of Mataran. Yogjakarta is still a Sultanate, now under the jurisdiction of Sultan Hamengku Buyona IX, a dynasty dating from 1755. Due to its location and history, the arts flourished in Yogjakarta and it still offers a wide variety of traditional arts today, as there are many craftsmen.  
After breakfast, we will have a nice rickshaw ride, called becak, and then visit Keraton Palace, which is a splendid example of traditional Javanese architecture. There is still the focus of elaborate rituals, dance and gamelan performances. In 1755 it was the centre of Javanese culture. Visit the Borobudur Temple which was built in the 8th century and is the largest artistic expression of the principles of the Buddhist religion, combining art and architecture to produce a true 'Wonder of the World'. The temple has 504 statues of Buddha and more than 1300 carved panels depicting scenes from his life. Due to its location and history, the arts flourished in Yogyakarta and still today it offers a variety of its traditional arts. Visit Kota Gede to see how beautiful hand-made silver work. Also visit Batik Industry to learn how the traditional Batik is made. Visit the Prambanan Hindu Temple, built between the 5th & 9th century A.D.
Tonight there is an optional dinner with Ramayana Ballet Performance.

09.04.12 From Yogyakarta we drive to Malang. Here we pass the Sesuhunan Mangkunegara Palace. Then make a trip to Pasar Klewer, which is a famous textile and flea market in Java. From Solo we drive to Batu, the apple town of Java. Transfer to your hotel in Batu.

10.04.12 After breakfast we do a Malang city tour & visit Selecta Park - a recreation park with beautiful flowers and colourful fishes. Malang City with the cold climated and well known as "Apple City". Then drive to Bromo.

11.04.12 Optional Midnight Bromo Sunrise Tour $25 (min 4 pax) climbs up the volcano Mount Bromo to see Sunrise and see Hindu Temple, and the smoke in the crater.
Afterwards the entire group drives to Kalibaru, The Garden of Eve, with coffee, tobacco, rubber plantations.

12.04.12 Today we can walk through villages or plantations, before our drive to the ferry to cross the sea and arrive in Gilimanuk, Bali, and then transfer to Kuta for a 3 night stay.

15.04.12 This morning you are transferred to Denpasar International Airport for your flight to Singapore. Depart Denpasar at 9.10am on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 941, arriving in Singapore at 11.40am. Upon arrival in Singapore you are transferred to your hotel in Singapore for a two day, one night stay.  
While in Singapore you will receive all the benefits listed below:

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Java & Bali Tour


Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 8 weeks prior to departure. 
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance
-
Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired. Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance.  Please note that we can only process  your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.    
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia. Australian passport holders require a visa for Indonesia, which is obtained upon arrival at Jakarta Airport. The cost of the visa is US $25.00
Taxes and Levies -Air taxes and Fuel Levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in Air taxes and Fuel Levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.
Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as travel insurance, telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc.
Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $55 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions. 
Airfare Upgrades - Business class international airfares can be arranged for this tour from an additional price of $4,289 per person, subject to flight availability. Please inquire with our office for a specific price for this airfare.
Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission.  Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department.Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program
