This price is fantastic value for a tour of Greece in early Summer, as it covers all of the following: 
  • Return Air fares from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Athens with Singapore Airlines. 
  • A wonderful 17 day tour of Greece and the Greek Islands, including a cruise to the Greek Islands of Mykonos, Patmos, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini. 
  • Good quality accommodation with private facilities throughout, mainly three to three-and-a-half star.  
  • A two night stopover in Singapore. 
  • Many meals as per the itinerary. 
  • All transport and transfers, including a four day cruise on a modern ocean liner. 
  • Servies of Greek tour guides and if there are 12 or more passengers there will be an Australian tour leader.
If you do not have a travel partner, but wish to travel at twin-share rates, we will match you up with someone else in the same position. If you require a single room, there will be an additional charge of $1255.

If you would like to upgrade to an outside cabin on the cruise there will be an additional cost of $90 per person twin share.

Depart Sydney at 8.05am on SQ 212, arriving in Singapore at 2.25pm.
Depart Melbourne at 10.00am on SQ 238, arriving in Singapore at 3.50pm.
Depart Brisbane at 2.40pm on SQ 236, arriving in Singapore at 8.50pm.
You will be transferred to your hotel in Singapore for a two night stay. While in Singapore the following will be included.

A day to do just as you please. You could also join an optional day cruise to the islands of Aegina, Hydra and Poros. In the evening there is free time to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the tavernas and nightclubs in the old Plaka district with its narrow streets and sound of bouzouki music.

Athens - Nauplia
Join the included sightseeing tour of Athens featuring the highlights of this ancient capital. Visit the Acropolis. Next westward to the Corinth Canal. Journey into the Argolis to make a stop in Epidaurus. Visit the open air theatre, which can still seat 14,000 spectators, then head for the coast and overnight in Nauplia.

Nauplia - Mycenae - Sparta
This morning enjoy the included excursion with a local guide to Mycenae, a city fortress cursed by the gods but rich in gold and warrior kings. Motor south in the afternoon deep into the Peloponnese to Sparta for overnight.

Sparta - Olympia
Your morning highlight will be the included sightseeing of Mystra, at one time known as "The Florence of the East." In the afternoon drive to Olympia, the legendary venue of the Olympic games, when every four years the city-states engaged in sport instead of war.

Olympia - Patras - Delphi
Focus on Olympia where the athletes of antiquity performed in honour of the King of Deities. Learn more about the history of the Olympic games on the optional sightseeing tour. In the afternoon, drive north to Patras, the capital of the Peloponnese and the west coast's largest port. Then proceed through the picturesque fishing villages along the south coast of the mainland to mythical Delphi, crossing the spectacular Rion-Antirion Bridge.

A short drive to Meteora, which is a cluster of monastic buildings perched in an unforgettable manner on a set of rising rock formations. Your included visit is certainly  the day's highlight. Later drive south via Lamia to Athens for overnight.

Athens - Piraeus - cruising: Mykonos
Early morning embarkation and an afternoon spent cruising in the Aegean. Evening arrival in Mykonos, a granite island and the most typical of the Cyclades. Its cubic houses, windmills and chapels seem to make the island's light even more translucent. Spend some time visiting a taverna or just wandering around the town enjoying its timeless beauty.
On the cruise all the following are included;
Buffet breakfasts, Open-air buffet lunches, Multi-course dinners, Captain's welcome cocktail dinner, Greek night dinner, Cabaret show, resident band, disco dancing and casino, port taxes, and on board assistance given by stewards/hostesses.

Cruising: Kusadasi, Turkey & Patmos, Greece
Two ports of call today. First Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. An optional morning excursion takes you to the fascinating Greek, Roman, and Byzantine excavations of Ephesus. Don't miss this optional, as by seeing the excavation of Ephesus you will see possibly the greatest archaeological site in the world. Next discover the tiny Greek island of Patmos, where St. John the Divine wrote the Revelation. The 11th century monastery with its valuable manuscript collection is well worth a visit.

Cruising: Rhodes
Dock in Rhodes, largest of the Dodecanese Islands and site of the Colossus of Rhodes, a 105-foot statue destroyed by an earthquake in 224 BC. All day is dedicated to the island of Rhodes. Explore the sights in the historic Old City with its ramparts and palaces built by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. If sightseeing is not your thing, Rhode's sun-drenched beaches and colourful shopping districts are within easy walking distance of the port. Sail from Rhodes around dinner time.

Cruising: Crete and Santorini
Morning at Heraklion on the island of Crete. A few miles away is Knossos, the centre of the 3000 BC Minoan civilization, and an optional excursion can be booked. Next port of call (weather permitting) is Santorini, the "Black Pearl of the Aegean." The optional shore excursion here takes you up to the cliff-top village of Oia for one of the world's most breathtaking panoramas.

In the morning you are transferred to Athens airport for your flights home. Depart Athens at 8.25am on Olympic Air flight OA 315, arriving in Istanbul at 9.45am. Then depart Istanbul at 1.30pm on Singapore Airlines flight SQ 391, arriving in Singapore at 5.00am the next morning (18.06.2012).

Brisbane passengers depart Singapore at 9.50am on SQ 245, arriving in Brisbane at 7.30pm.

On your morning arrival into Athens on the 1st June, your Athens hotel may not be ready for check-in until about 2pm. If you would like to go straight into your hotel room there will be an additional charge of $90 per person twin share or $140 single room. 
Accommodation on the boat is in inside cabins. This can be upgraded to outside cabins for an extra $90 per person.
Also Note: The ground operator in Greece is Cosmos.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Greece & the Greek Islands Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 10 weeks prior to departure. 
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired. Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance.  Please note that we can only process  your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.    
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia.  
Visas are not required for Singapore and Greece if travelling on an Australian passport. A visa is required for Turkey and is obtained upon arrival at a cost of USD $25 per person.
Basic Tour Price and Taxes -  Air taxes and Fuel Levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in Air taxes and Fuel Levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.
Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $55 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions. 
Not  Included in the Cost - Travel Insurance, visas and all items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary)etc are not included in the cost. Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2 % is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of our tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department.
Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
