This is great value for a tour to France in the peak early summer period, as all of the following are included:

  • Return air fares from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane into Paris return, with Thai International, one of the world's best airlines. 
  • A 14 day tour of all the main tourist areas of France including 3 days in wonderful Paris. 
  • A 5 day stopover in Thailand.  
  • Good accommodation, mainly 3 to 4 star. 
  • Many meals. 
  • All transport and transfers. 
  • Entrance fees to many attractions. 
  • Services of French and Thai tour guides and if there are 12 or more tour participants there will also be an Australian tour leader.     

If you don't have a travelling companion, but wish to travel at twin share rates, we will try and match you up with someone in the same situation. If you require a single room, there will be an extra charge of $890.

07.06.12 Australia - Bangkok, Thailand
Depart Sydney at 10.00am on TG 476, arriving in Bangkok at 4.20pm.
Depart Brisbane at 2.00pm on TG 474, arriving in Bangkok at 8.20pm.
Depart Melbourne at 3.00pm on TG 466, arriving in Bangkok at 9.30pm
All flights will be met at the airport and transferred to the Manhattan hotel in Central Bangkok.

Bangkok - Songkhram
Mid morning departure from hotel. First we stop at a crocodile farm where we see a wonderful crocodile show followed by an interesting elephant show, which shows how wild elephants are captured and how  elephants have been used in battle. We then move on to the resort hotel in Amphor Maung for a 2 night stay in their deluxe rooms.
In this area you will see authentic Thailand with the people living along the canals in a similar fashion to the way they lived for centuries. Also you can shop where the locals shop and pay local prices.
That evening we will have dinner in a nice restaurant followed by a boat trip on the canal and Maekong  River to see the life along the canal and the spectacular fireflies.

Songkhram
This morning we will see two interesting temples. First we see a lacquerware temple that is quite beautiful. Next we visit the historic Bangkung Camp Temple with its imposing Buddha statue from the Ayuttaya period. This temple also features a large collection of life-like statues depicting the man positions and moves in Thai Martial arts. Next we visit a top quality Thai ceramic factory where the quality and artistry is so high that the Thai royal family members are regular clients.

Songkhram - River Kwai
Morning departure for River Kwai. First of all we visit the beautifully maintained Allied War Cemetery at Kanchanaburi. Then we visit the Jeath War Museum. Then onto the infamous bridge itself. We then have lunch (included), before going on to visit the Buddhist temple, where the monks care for many tigers. You have an opportunity to get a photo of yourself patting one of the "man eating brutes"!
We then travel out to the Burmese border to visit a hill-tribe village of the Mon people. Here we witness a display of traditional Mon dancing and have dinner (included). Accommodation tonight is at the famous Jungle Rafts 'Hotel' floating on the River Kwai. This unique accommodation, however there is no electricity.

River Kwai - Bangkok
First we have a long-tail  boat trip on the River Kwai before heading back to Bangkok. En route we visit the world's biggest pagoda & then we arrive in Bangkok.
We will visit a jewellery workshop & showroom. We then proceed to the Manhattan Hotel where we have afternoon use of hotel rooms to relax or to go out shopping in this great shopping city. After dinner  transfer to the Bangkok International airport

Bangkok - Paris
Depart Bangkok at 12.05am on TG 930, arriving in Paris at 7.05am. Transfer to your Paris hotel with the rest of the day free to explore this wonderful city. Tonight you will meet your French tour director.

Drive first to the fine old city of Rouen and walk through its centre, rich in gothic architecture. Next stop in lovely Honfleur and then in the world-famous seaside resort of Deauville. Overnight in Caen.

Caen-Normandy Landing Beaches - Bayeux - Mont St. Michel
Time to see Caen before a visit to the legendary beaches where the Allied troops landed more than 60 years ago. The highlights are Arromanches, St. Laurant, and the American Cemetery at Omaha. Next journey to Bayeux where you can admire the famous tapestry (entrance fee extra). Then southwards to the unique beauty of Mont St. Michel, which stands on an island reached by a causeway for an overnight.

Time this morning to enjoy a visit of Mont St Michel before a mid-morning departure to Angers to visit its cathedral. Then along the banks of the Loire to Amboise for two nights.

Time at leisure or join the optional excursion to see some of the most spectacular castles of the Loire, steeped in the history of noblemen and kings since the 11th century. Gothic spires, medieval turrets, great fortresses, and beautiful chateaux make for splendid panoramas.

Amboise - Poitiers - La Rochelle - Bordeaux.
Travel on the comfortable Autoroute L'Aquitaine as far as Poitiers. Next stop is the picturesque town of La Rochelle, situated on the Atlantic coast. Continue southwards  into the world-famous Cognac region to visit a museum in Cognac. Then journey to Bordeaux for an ovenight stay.

Bordeaux - Dordogne - Rocamadour - Toulousse
Time for an orientation walk of Bordeaux, then drive into the heart of one of France's most scenic regions the Dordogne. Stop in the dramatically located medieval town of Rocamadour perched high upon a cliff. Southwards by way of Cahors to Toulouse for an overnight stay.

Toulousse - Carcasonne - Nimes - Pont Du - Avignon.
Drive this morning along the Autoroute des Deux Mers for an orientation walk in Carcassonne. Then continue eastwards to Nimes an elegant city famed for its busy boulevards shaded by lotus trees. Also visit the famous Roman amphitheater. Get a view of the Maison Carree, one of the best preserved Roman temples in the whole of France. Short picture stop at the famous Pont du Gard, before reaching Avignon for an overnight stay.

South this morning to visit Arles, the most famous of all the Provence towns, known the world over by the paintings of Van Gogh. Stop in Aix-en-Provence to see its main street, the Cours Mirabeau, lined with plane trees and its 17th-century palace, houses, and fountains. Finally, to the French Riviera on the shores of the Mediterranean.

Morning free. Transfer to Paris airport, departing at 1.40pm on TG 931, arriving in Bangkok at 5.55am the next morning.

Sydney passengers depart Bangkok at 8.00am on TG 471, arriving in Sydney at 8.00pm.
Melbourne passengers depart Bangkok at 8.10am on TG 461, arriving in Melbourne at 8.00pm.
Brisbane passengers will be transferred to the 3 star Manhattan Hotel in Bangkok for day use of a hotel room until 6.00pm.
They will then be transferred back to Bangkok airport, departing at 11.55pm on TG 473, arriving in Brisbane at 11.50am the next morning (27.06.12).
Note For Brisbane passengers the extra stop over in Bangkok will be an additional cost of $80 per person twin share or $110 single room.
Sydney and Melbourne passengers may do this also if they wish.

On your morning arrival into Paris on the 12th June, your Paris hotel may not be ready for check-in until about 2pm. If you would like to go straight into your hotel room there will be an additional charge of $96 per person twin share or $159 single room. 
Also Note: The ground operator in France is Cosmos.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's France Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 10 weeks prior to departure. 
Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.
Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired. Macleay Valley Travel offers Suresave Travel Insurance.  Please note that we can only process  your travel insurance when we have received full payment for the insurance and the signed Suresave Travel Insurance application form, located on the last page of the Suresave Travel Insurance information booklet. Until this time the travel insurance cannot be processed and will not be valid. Macleay Valley Travel will bare no responsibility for any consequences that may occur as a result of an incomplete insurance application.    
Passports - All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia.  Visas are not required if travelling on an Australian passport.
Basic Tour Price and Taxes -  Air taxes and Fuel Levies are included in the basic tour price if the tour is paid in full on or before the due date on the final invoice. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to charge for any increase in Air taxes and Fuel Levies if the tour is not paid in full by the due date.
Breakaway Fee - All fully inclusive prices are based on group travel and any deviation from the set itinerary will incur a breakaway fee. The breakaway fee for most deviations including a post-tour extension on this tour is $55 per person. Please inquire with our office for prices on any pre-tour extensions. 
Not  Included in the Cost - Travel Insurance, visas and all items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary)etc are not included in the cost. Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2 % is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.
Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of our tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affairs (fair trading) department.
Health and Fitness - Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour. Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service. Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.
Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
