If you do not have a travel partner but wish to travel at twin share rates, we will try and match you up with another traveler, but this is not guaranteed. For a single room there will be an extra charge of $835.

Note: For Melbourne and Brisbane passengers there will be an extra charge of $120 plus airport taxes for return connecting flights to Sydney.

Depart Sydney at 10:15am on VN 782, arriving in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh) at 3:50pm.  You will be met and transferred to the Continental hotel for a two night stay.

Saigon - My Tho (Mekong Delta)
Morning depart hotel for a coach trip to My Tho which is a two hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. My Tho is a prosperous town of 200,000 inhabitants in the Mekong Delta. It is famous for its extensive orchards and immense rice fields. Enjoy 4 hour boat ride on the Mekong River and visit to an orchard on an island, coconut candy workshop, bee farm with lunch on the way. Back to Saigon late afternoon.

Saigon
Morning at leisure. Check out of hotel at 1:00pm PHO (traditional noodle soup) and spring rolls for lunch at PHO2000. In the afternoon, we will have a half day Saigon city tour including a short walking tour around down town to the Opera House, City Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office then visit to the former Presidential Palace (Reunification Palace), War Remnants Museum, a laquerware workshop and a drive around China Town. Dinner at a local restaurant before being transferred to the airport for flight VN 543 at 11:30pm, arriving in Frankfurt at 6:30am the next morning.

Frankfurt (Neu Isenburg) - Prague
This morning after breakfast we leave Frankfurt and travel east making a stop at the fairytale city of Nuremberg. There's time to stroll through the medieval streets and the many squares with their attractive fountains. From here our journey continues to the Czech border and via Pilsen, famous for its beer, to the beautiful city of Prague where we spend two nights. Overnight at the Ibis Wenceslas Square Hotel.

On our morning sightseeing tour we will see Hradcany Castle, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and the Old Town Square. Later with time on your own, why not shop for bargains in glass and porcelain.

Prague - Vienna (Voesendorf)
An early start this morning, as we travel via Tabor to the Austrian border. Soon we reach Austrian's capital, imperial Vienna. On our arrival a guided sightseeing tour shows us the splendours of this city including the Opera House, the Parliament, the Hofburg and the City Hall. Overnight at the  Eventhotel Pyramid Hotel.

Vienna (Voesendorf) - Budapest
This morning you will have some free time in Vienna, you may want to browse the shops along Vienna's famous Kãrtnerstrasse. Later on today, we will continue our journey through Transdanubia, making a stop in Roman-founded Gyõr, before continuing to the twin cities of Buda and Pest for two nights. Overnight at a Budapest hotel.

Budapest - Zagreb
Today we head past countryside brimming with storks and their nests towards the shores of one of Europe's largest and most romantic lakes - Balaton. Then we make our way to Nagykanizsa and the border with Croatia. Soon we are in Zagreb, the Croatian capital, where sightseeing includes the lower and upper town and shows us the majestic Cathedral, St. Mark's Church and the Opera House. Overnight at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.

Zagreb - Ljubljana
After breakfast we begin today's journey which brings us to beautiful Slovenia and its capital, Ljubljana. Here our guided sightseeing tour highlights the Opera House, Cathedral, National Museum, castle and the numerous parks of this Roman-founded city. Tonight we will enjoy a Slovenian dinner at our hotel. Overnight at Hotel M.

This morning with time at leisure. Alternatively, you may wish to simply spend time in Slovenia's charming capital before we head out this afternoon for the Italian border near Trieste. Finally, we now arrive in the magical city of Venice where we will be staying for two nights. Overnight at Villa Fiorita Hotel.

Our day starts with an included cruise along the canals by vaporetto to St. Mark's Square. We'll view the Bridge of Sighs and Doges' Palace before visiting a traditional glass-blowing workshop. After, enjoy time on your own.

Venice (Monastier) - Lucerne
We drive along the Veneto Plain and head towards Milan. Here we turn north to drive through the Italian Lake District and then into Switzerland at Chiasso. Soon we are crossing Lake Lugano, the Gotthard range of mountains and travel along the shores of the Lake of the Four Cantons to arrive in picturesque Lucerne. Overnight at Luzernerhof Hotel.

Lucerne - Munich
Our first stop today is in Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein. We continue to the Austrain border at Feldkirch and drive through the Arlberg range before arriving at mountain-ringed Innsbruck. Here an orientation shows us the Golden Roof in the old town. We drive on into German Bavaria on our way to the fun-loving capital city Munich!. Overnight at Holiday Inn South.

Orientation of Germany's 'secret capital' shows us the Hofbrãuhaus, Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel. Then there is time to enjoy on your own, to explore the city further.

Munich - Frankfurt (Neu Isenburg)
Through the hills of Bavaria we reach Ulm, to see its impressive Cathedral with the tallest spire in the world. Then we pass through Stuttgart on our way to Heidelberg where we view the castle from the old University town. Next on to the Rhine Valley stopping to visit to wine-town of Rudesheim with its pretty houses and quaint streets. Finally, back to Frankfurt. Overnight at Mecure Neu Isenburg.

Morning free in Frankfurt. Transfer to Frankfurt Airport, departing at 2:40pm on VN 542, arriving in Saigon (Ho CHi Minh City) at 8:00am the next morning.
14.09.08 Saigon
On arrival in Saigon, you will have day use of a hotel room, with a free day in Saigon. Transfer back to Saigon Airport, departing at 9:00pm on VN 783, arriving in Sydney at 8:15am the next morning (15.09.08).

Airport taxes and levies at present total an additional amount of approximately $550. We have no control over this price and it is subject to change.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Central and East Europe Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 10 weeks prior to departure. 

Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.

Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.

Passports - All travellers require a current passport. Visas are not required for Australian passport holders. People travelling on a non-Australian passport will require a re-entry visa to Australia.

Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary) and also travel insurance and airport taxes. At present the airport taxes must now be paid with your ticket, and totals approx $550

Health and Fitness
Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour.  Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service.  Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.

Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents. Because of this, if you want to book through another travel agent such booking can only be accepted on the basis of the Agent's commission being added to the price charged.
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund.
Similarly, because of the low margins and the hefty fees charged by credit card companies we can only accept credit card payment for the deposit. If you must pay the balance by credit card this can only be accepted if you add 2% to the final payment to help defray the substantial  fees that the credit card companies charge us.

Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
