  Itinerary for British Isles with Chelsea Flower Show May

17.05.09 Depart Sydney at 8.20pm and Brisbane at 11.20pm on MH140, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 5.30am the next morning.
18.05.09 Depart Melbourne at 12.15am (Check-in by 10.00pm on 17.05.09) on MH128, arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 6.25am.
All passengers will be transferred together to their central Kula Lumpur hotel.
In the afternoon there will be a half day Kula Lumpur city tour. Amust for first time visitors to Kula Lumpur. An interesting tour which unveils the beauty and charm of the old and new Kula Lumpur - Garden City of Light. Hoghlights of the tour include: Petronas Twin Towers (photo stop), OE jewelry showroom, King's Palace (photo stop) National Monument, National Museum, National Mosque (photo stop) Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Tudor styled Cricket Club.

This full day tour brings you to Malacca formely ruled by the Portugese, Dutch and lastly the British over a period of 400 years. Meet your tour director and traveling companions and depart at 8am from your London hotel for a memorable day of sightseeing: a photo opportunity at Hampton Court Palace, Runnymede, where King John sealed the Magna Carta: a wlking tour in Oxford, one of the country's oldest seats of learning: and trough the lovely Cotswold Hills. At Shakespeare's Strathford-upon-Avon, take your pistures of Anne Hathaway's Cottage and explore the town at your own pace. Finally, at Coventry, whose center had to be rebuilt after the devastation of World War II bombings, hear the tale of Lady Godiva and Peeping Tom, and admire the splendid modern cathedral.

Leave the Midlands, passing the once-mighty Sherwood forest, home of the legendary Robin Hood, and head north to York, England's most complete medieval city. Stop for the night near Richmond, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales made famous by James Herriot's All Greatures Great and Small.

Highlands. West Coast Excursion
More spectacular Scottish scenery. The lovely Falls of Shin; Dornoch Firth and the Kyle of Sutherland; then follow Strath Oykel for a visit to Ullapool, a remote fishing harbour on Loch Broom before returning along Loch Glascarnoch. Our recommendation for this evening would be to join the Loch Ness Experience optional excursion including a cruise on the loch followed by supper at a local inn.

Highlands-Isle of Skye -Glasgow
More heather-clad moors as you drive through the western Highlands to Lochalsh and the Inner Hebridean Isle of Skye. The route back to the mainland is by ferry across the Sound of Sleat to Mallaig, then breathtaking scenery all the way to Fort William beneath Ben Nevis. Glen Coe, where the MacDonald Clan was treacherously massacred by the Campbells in 1692, and a drive along the "Bonnie Banks' of Loch Lomond are scenic highlights on the way to Glasgow, Scotland's great cultural city.

Across the Irish Sea to Holyhead on the Welsh Isle of Anglesey with its tongue-twisting place names. Follow the North Wales coast route to Chester, England, the historic county town on the River Dee. A walking tour takes you past Roman remains, black and white half-timbered buildings, and the two-tiered shopping arcades called the "Rows." Spend the night at Wrexham back in Wales.

An interesting southbound route through Wales: scenic Horseshoe Pass; Llangollen, home of an international competition for poets and musicians, the market town of Ludlow; Brecon Beacons National Park; and the "The Valleys" whose iron ore and coal where the raw materials for the Industrial Revolution. In the Welsh capital an orientation drive takes in Cathays Park with its splendid civic buildings and Cardiff Castle.

Across the Severn Bridge to the elegant Georgian city of Bath famed for its Roman relics. Into the West Country via Glastonbury and its associations with King Arthur, and wild and romantic Dartmoor with a visit to the picture-book village of Widecombe in the Moor. Upon arrival in Plymouth hear about Sir Francis Drake and see the Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers embarked in 1620.

A day full of West Country sights as you head through Daphne Du Maurier's Cornwall. After viewing St. Michael's Mount rising boldly out of the sea, take your photos at Land's End, then follow the Atlantic coast strewn with its derelict tin mines and recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before the popular seaside resort of St. Ives.

An interesting day heading into Thomas Hardy's Wessex and views of the intriguing prehistoric monument of Stonehenge. Take a break in Salisbury for a look at its vast cathedral, the ultimate in Early English Gothic. Stop for photos at historic Arundel, dominated by the Duke of Norfolk's huge castle, before continuing on to the seaside resort of Brighton for overnight stay.

A leisurely last day on the road with time this morning for a seafront promenade stroll or to browse along The Lanes, a quaint area of narrow streets, renowned for its antique shops. Finally, take the scenic route via the pretty market town of Lewes and pause for lunch in picturesque Royal Tunbridge Wells. Return to London about 3.00pm. Free afternoon and night in London.

Conditions for Macleay Valley Travel's Britian & Chelsea Flower Show Tour

Deposits and Payments - A non-refundable deposit of $400.00 per person is payable within 7 days of booking. This deposit is not refundable should you later cancel. The balance is payable in full 10 weeks prior to departure. 

Refunds and Cancellations - Cancellations after final payment will result in a refund limited to whatever we can recoup from the airline.

Insurance - Adequate travel insurance is essential. We can arrange this for you if desired.

Passports -
All travellers require a current passport with at least 6 months left on it at the end of the tour. Non-Australian passport holders require a re-entry visa for Australia.
Visas are not required for any of these countries if travelling on an Australian passport.

Not  Included in the Cost - All items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, drinks, excess baggage, tips, meals, (except those specified in the itinerary), etc. Also travel insurance and airport taxes. Australian airport tax must now be paid with your ticket, and comes to $780 at present.

Booking through other Agents - As we keep the cost of out tours as low as possible, there is insufficient margin for us to be able to pay commission to other travel agents, so some bookings can only be accepted if the client pays the other agent's commission. 
Macleay Valley Travel is a fully licensed travel agent and as such any monies paid to us are fully insured by the Travel Compensation Fund. We are happy for any prospective traveller with us to check us out with your local Consumer Affiars (fair trading) department.
Similarly, credit card payments can only be accepted if 2% is added to the price to help defray the heavy merchant fees charged to us by the credit card companies.

Health and Fitness
Macleay Valley Travel recommends that the passenger is reasonably healthy and/or fit to participate in this tour.  Persons with a disability requiring special assistance must be accompanied by a companion. Macleay Valley Travel and their representatives cannot provide this service.  Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to accept/decline or terminate a passenger's participation in the tour under certain circumstances.

Limitation of Liability - As Macleay Valley Travel acts only as agent for the Airlines, Hotels, Coach Companies etc., providing accommodation, transportation and other services, Macleay Valley Travel shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person or loss or damage to any property including baggage arising out of or connection with any transportation, accommodation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of Government or other authorities, de jure or defacto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations caused by changes in schedules or itinerary, or over bookings or defaults or for any causes beyond Macleay Valley Travel's control or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and neither Macleay Valley Travel, and its servants or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour member as a result of the foregoing causes.
Macleay Valley Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary or the accommodation if circumstances make this necessary, provided that the amended itinerary is of equal value or greater value than that of the original program.
